George’s Athletic Achievements
George’s journey as an athlete is nothing short of extraordinary. At Bergen Catholic High School, he was a nationally-ranked wrestler and regional champ. His prowess on the wrestling mat earned him a scholarship to UNC Chapel Hill. George’s talents weren’t confined to wrestling alone. He showcased his mettle in football as a starting running back and outside linebacker, earning multiple scholarships in the process. Transferring to Cornell University after his freshman year, he became part of the wrestling team that clinched an EIWA championship and national title.
Academics and Fraternity
George’s accomplishments aren’t just limited to the sports arena. At Cornell, he pursued Development Sociology and added feathers to his academic cap by minoring in Applied Economics and Management. George’s thirst for knowledge and networking saw him becoming a member of Alpha Kappa Psi, a prestigious business fraternity at Cornell, connecting him to future business leaders and innovators.
George’s Personal Story
Born to Fulda Kocher and Richard Kocher, George’s roots have always grounded him with parents that are real estate developers and entreprenuers. As a devoted husband to Sydney Kocher and a loving father to James Lawrence Kocher, his family remains his cornerstone. George’s journey, from a spirited athlete to a visionary CEO, showcases his dedication, resilience, and passion. As a former Division 1 wrestler, George is still an avid health and wellness enthusiast, Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu fan, and most recently, a marathoner. In addition to caring about his own health, George is a mental health advocate and enjoys volunteering.
Education
George went to high school at Bergen Catholic where he was a captain of the football and wrestling team and earned honors. His academic journey saw him starting at UNC-Chapel Hill on a wrestling scholarship. However, his quest for academic excellence led him to transfer to Cornell University. There, he majored in Development Sociology while minoring in Applied Economics and Management.
